FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Another swag of National Championships for Johnston Racing boats.

April 2003

James McRae set the National Rowing Championships alive when he came steaming home to win the Schoolboy Single Scull National Championship of Australia in a Johnston Racing Elite J14 Scull.  Down by over 2 lengths with 500m to go James lifted the rating and pressure to post a last 500m time some 10 seconds faster than the 1500m leader.  Not bad for a 15 year old, who was giving 3 years away to the his competitors.  James also defended his U17 single scull easily (incidentally his time was faster than the next race which was the U19 scull).  Congratulations to James and his coach Ron Mobbs.

The girls from Murray Bridge and Torrens (although a different crew from last year) defended their National Championship in the U17 quad scull in a Johnston Racing Elite J42 coxed quad scull.

Many silver and bronze medals (too many to list) were also won in Johnston Racing boats.

Most importantly JR had significantly more competitors from around the Nation (SA, VIC, NSW, WA, QLD) using Johnston Racing boats to compete at the National Championships.  Singles, Doubles, Quads, Pairs, Fours and Eights, Johnston Racing was represented in them all.
